I’m from the beautiful Island of Sri Lanka, The pearl of the Indian Ocean.  I was born & bred here.

Well, creativity was in my blood from my childhood, I was good at drawing things from an early age; also my two brothers were talented in arts. They were good artists. Specially my big brother whom was a good cartoonist. Maybe, that inspired me for going into graphic design.

Yes, I do freelance work, and I am also employed as a Junior Art Director at a leading Advertising & Media Company in Sri Lanka, Also I was fortunate to get much needed foreign exposure by working abroad for some time. I love this job, because you get the ability to execute ideas into compelling visuals and textual content desired.

My favorite part would be the freedom to express your ideas without any boundaries or conditions,   in the medium of arts there is no norms as such: ‘Right’ or ‘Wrong’
 
I would like to do a Concept and Art direction of a lesser known product in the market into a world class brand name like ‘Nike’, ‘Nokia’ or ‘Toyota’ etc. Though, I have done similar product branding to customers helping them to penetrate the local market through creative advertising campaigns.

One word of advice, never imitate others, be original. Everyone is blessed with a unique characteristic that’s definite to the other person. Identify your true inner strength & weakness and work accordingly.  Hence, the rewards will flow.  

My family who had faith in me helped shape my career.

In order to spark creativity for a difficult project, do a brain storming from the very bottom to the utmost, and then add icings to whole concepts creating a masterpiece. To be a good designer you have think out of the box, rather than just sticking to one. 

Life is an open stage where we ‘actors’ are opt to perform. Like in arts how good we are is measured by the good deeds we have performed.

In the future I would like to have my own company and to help build a better society through the powerful media called; ADVERTISING.
