Are we allowed to enter more than one design? If so, will all of them be considered for the winning prize, or just one of them? And if we are allowed, do we have to enter each one in a seperate thread/post? Because I have an idea for one design, only one for a still pic and one for an animation.

      Megan,

Great questions! Here are the answers:

      1. Are we allowed to enter more than one design?

Yes, we’d like to see as many designs as possible.

      2. If so, will all of them be considered for the winning prize, or just one of them?

All entries will be considered for the winning prize, but if you win first place you won’t be able to win second… You will only be able to win one prize in this contest.

      3. And if we are allowed, do we have to enter each one in a seperate thread/post?

Yes, we’d like each design to be entered in a separate post within your assigned thread.

Please let us know if you have additional questions! We’re looking forward to your posts!

Thank you for giving me the answers. And actually I do have another question, lol. What type of file format do you want, or can it be any? Obviously I know the animated one has to be .GIF but is there any rule on the still pics? I perfer .PNG because it has a higher quality, smaller file size, and can have transparency… is it alright if I use that?

          Hi Megan,

During the competition you can upload any of the following types: .jpg, .gif, and .png. However, the winning logo must be delivered in vector format (i.e. .eps or .ai format). Thanks for the questions. We can’t wait to see your submissions – starting this coming Wednesday.

          • Megan Creech says:

Alright, thank you. However, I’ve never used .eps or .ai formats, and are not familiar with them… will I have to provide the design in these formats, or will you or someone else in the company do this? Just making sure so I don’t goof up! ^^’

              Hi Megan,

EPS is a widely used format for sharing vector and other art. .AI files are Adobe Illustrator files. The winning logos need to be delivered in vector format so we can scale them to any size for any application. There are free vector apps out there…here’s an example: http://www.inkscape.org/

              Thanks!

    Hi,

    Regarding the format.
We are not allowed to use .psd? even if we scaled it into a high resolution?

    Regards,
    Kyle

      Hi kylegaze,

      Thanks for the question.

During the contest .jpg, .gif, or .png files are required. We’d like the winning logo to be delivered in vector format…however, if for some reason a designer can’t deliver the winning design in vector format, we’ll work something out. Although I expect this to be unlikely. There are free vector programs (i.e. inkscape.org).

Quick question about the name to be used on the site. Is it officially “The Perfect Design” or “ThePerfectDesign.com”?

    • admin says:

Do you mean the logo? If so, we could use either in the logo depending on how it looks and how we like the presentation? Regarding the company name, our company name is ThePerfectDesign.com, LLC.

      Thanks!
