Graphic Design Is An Iterative Process

This is graphic design tip #51 from the post 101 Graphic Graphic Design Tips for Business Success

Don’t Just Rely On What You Have Done On The Past

Even though you will repeat some of the same steps over and over, it’s wonderful to know that there are still designs that have not been designed yet and creativity can still exist. With that in mind, a satisfactory result today may not be satisfactory tomorrow.

Part of the thrill of being a designer is uncharted territory. The beginning of each new project is an adventure waiting to happen. Perfect your style, skill and technique and then push the boundaries. A really good designer is always experimenting, tweaking, and perfecting what they know.

In this fast-paced era you can’t afford to rest on what you have done in the past. It is easy to become dated or obsolete. You have to do new things in order to catch people’s attention. This is especially important on the web and in ads where you only have mere seconds to get that click for your client.

Evolve Along With Ever Changing Graphic Design

There is a powerful psychology to the new. People are curious by nature, but they are also cautious as well. You want to find a fine balance of being eye-catching while instilling a feeling of trust-worthiness. Also when people are shopping for different things, they are looking for different styles. For example if you are shopping for a daycare that sleek looking ad may not work. Taylor each design to the audience, the need, and what the end result should be. And keep it fresh.

Push yourself always. You are never done learning or trying new things. Design is ever changing; make sure you continue to evolve and grow with it.
