Make sure you have adequate sleep, exercise, nutrition and hydration. If not, you will slow down and you will be looking forward to burnout, which is not fun.

Our mind resides in the body; we rely on our best work to be produced from a healthy mind. That means taking care of the body the best that you can. The better you feel, the better your work will be. Being alert and active is the best way to produce your best work.

Balance Your Life

The fastest tract to burnout is ignoring balance in your life. It’s good to be a hard worker but don’t let it take over your life. Take time for rest and other activities and hobbies. You will be able to look at the world with fresh eyes and renewed energy. This will make you so much more than just a warm body in a seat. And that energy will energize the people around you!

Keep a bottle of water at work and energy boosting snacks like nuts, fruit and vegetables. Avoid caffeine and sugar; while they might give you a temporary boost, it’s usually short-lived and will leave you drained in the end. Instead of coffee, try switching to herbal tea and gauge how much better you feel. You might be surprised to find yourself able to wake earlier and sleep better. Exercise every day, you can find yourself sitting prone for hours working. Counterbalance by having set times for being active and taking a brief walks during the day.

There is a lot of advice out for being healthy. The best advice is to work on it consistently and don’t neglect yourself. People are counting on you! Only you can find the perfect balance for your life, but when you work on it you will find all aspects of your life improve.
